1985 Nissan 300ZX For Sale

Make : Nissan
Model : 300ZX
Year : 1985
Color : Light Blue
Location : Tennessee
Mileage : 177,357

Description :
- Third Generation (1984-1989) Nissan 'Z' series. 2-door coupe, 2-seats, hatchback, manual 5-speed transmission, V6 engine, T-top, and fuel injected. Light Blue coloring on exterior and interior. Power windows, power locks, power steering, and power brakes all functional. AM/FM radio functional. A/C functional. Car alarm functional.
- Current owner was told car only had one owner before her. Current owner bought car in 1994.

Damage :
- Cosmetic damage to exterior and interior. Exterior damage consists of dents and dings, hood especially. Most exterior damage due to regular wear and tear, hood damage the exception. Interior damage mostly due to leaks from T-top, all other stains/fading due to regular wear and tear. Cruise control inoperative. Rear window washer inoperative. No antennae. Tape deck inoperative. Cosmetic lining peeling. Interior light cover missing.
- When purchased, the antennae and rear washer already did not work. The cosmetic lining on the inside was also damaged already. Owner was not overly concerned as car ran smoothly.
- Will most likely require cosmetic rebuilding, otherwise functions fine.
- No spare tire.

Modification :
- 1997/1998 Recall concerning Fuel Injection system honored.
- Original tape/radio deck replaced around 1995 with a removeable face tape deck/radio with possibility to be converted to CD-player if desired. This was done by Service Merchandise. Tape deck has now failed and is no longer operating. FM stations on radio operational; AM harder to hear, most likely due to lack of antennae.

Reason for selling :
-Tennessee Law does not allow child seats to be carried in front of vehicle. As 300ZX is a two-seater, a child seat is not possible. Owner would like car to go to someone who appreciates 'Z' cars.

Accidents :
- None

Experian - Auto Check :
- 6 records. Owner does not know content of records as she did not purchase Records. Most likely accounts of maintenance.

Asking price :
$7000/OBO

Questions welcome.

Responding

Thank you for your critiques on my price, I appreciate your candor and honesty. Truth is, I did put 'OBO' or 'Or Best Offer' on the asking price. I realize it is probably asking too much, which is why I am willing to negotiate. I have found most of the work records, in case a potential buyer is interested. I am seeing what I can do about correcting most of the superficial wear-and-tear damage.

I used three different sources to determine a price range:

1> http://www.nadaguides.com/uv/viewres...wPr=1&wPg=2032
The Low to Average Retail
2> Verbal quote by car dealer Used Car representative
3> http://www.edmunds.com/tmv/used/nissan/index.html
Rough Condition

In addition, as you can see on Edmunds, if the car were in mint/showroom condition, I would be able to ask around $10,000+ for it. However, I conceed that the damage must be accounted for in the quoting price, thus the willingness to negotiate. Quote high, and negotiate low.

As for the mileage, I can only say that it was the sole transportation for this driver for the past 10 years.

If there are any offers, please do not hesitate to give me a PM. If there are anymore comments, please do not hesistate to type them out.

Re: 1985 Nissan 300ZX For Sale

Greetings again,

My car was taken to a mechanic and was found to have more wrong with it than I initially thought. Then, most likely due to mileage, functions on the car began to deteriorate. So yes, the asking price was too much. The car has since been sold to a Used Car Dealer.

I apologize for being niave in my classified. It was my first time selling the car, and from my sporatic research on it I thought it more valuable. Thank you for your time. Please delete my sign-on to this site as I no longer own a Nissan.

Sincerely,
Suzaku_Mirai
