Does chrome belong on a CJ,YJ,or TJ?

I can't stand chrome on a Jeep. Just driving by the lot and seeing all those chrome tube bumpers sickens me. I saw it all, when I saw a TJ with spinners on it this weekend. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Chrome on one of these is just wrong - most of the time.

Waste of money that could be put into makin it wheel better and haul stuff out back.

Re: Does chrome belong on a CJ,YJ,or TJ?

After all the sound mechanical advice, this is exactly what I wanted to hear from you. I bought my 05 rubicon(lifted before her first oil change), and a couple months later my neighbor picked traded in his chromed 97 for an 05 X with all the factory chrome tubes. I shake my head evry time I see it.

The answer to the question is simple...

No.

I think a little chrome looks good on some CJ's because they have sort of a classic look to them. But for YJ's and TJ's - no way. As far as trim and accessories go for these jeeps, black is beautiful.

Re: Does chrome belong on a CJ,YJ,or TJ?

I saw a jeep rubicon with mag wheels, that belong on a car. I laughed out loud. I would have boughten mud tires, bigger rims and a lift kit for the amount he spent on those tires.

The only chrome allowed on a Jeep is Diamond Plate, and only if it's covering up some damage on an old CJ.

Now that would be a badge of honor. Kinda like a kid wearing a bandaid....

Why would one want chrome anything on a Jeep.. Chrome sucks enough to keep clean on a street car!

If it ain't black, its whack.

personally i dont think chrome is that bad but for a jeep you need a tougher look so if your wanting something shiny then i'd go for diamondplate

It's a big who cares, most jeeps will never see the dirt, in fact Chrysler says if you take it off road, you void the warrantee. When I asked what the "Trail Rated" badge ment, they asked "what badge?" The Jeep is a fun car, to be used as you want, if you want chrome go for it. As for me, it'll just rub off on the rocks.
