Fuel System Cleaner

I was just wondering if its a good idea to use this every 3k as stated by the manufactuer. Like is it doing more harm then good. I have read some forums that say its bad for the injectors. Any incite!

Thanks..

Well, my advice would be to stay away from those unless absolutely needed. I tried some stuff that was supposed to clean the lines and injectors, but it mainly killed my fuel pump. It started to get really loud, and im mean loud, like you couldnt even hear yourself talk, then it just quit. But yea, had to get that replaced. I dont even think twice about putting stuff in my tank unless its gas.

I bought my 2001 cavalier from a chevy dealership. Like 3 months later I was driving normally and the engine just cut out. I took it to a repair place and they said it was the fuel pump. Keep in mind the car only had 15k on it. Anyidea why this would have happend?

Re: Fuel System Cleaner

there could be many reasons. 1- using wrong type of gas, 2- driving often with less than 1 quarter of gas in the tank (causes pump to burn out), or 3- faulty pump

Well, i was just thinking maybe using premium instead of regular, etc. I'm not sure if this will cause problems like that, but it did for my friend. Had to get some big repairs done.
