holes
i have a 2001 satrurn sc2. when you open the hood, right next to each hood hinge on both sides there is a hole with a piece of tape over it. the tape is starting to peel off over them. what are these holes for & why are they covered like that? will i get leaks if the tape is completely removed?

Re: holes
there is a small round hole and a large oval on each side, the large oval is the inlet for fresh air to the climate control, it should have a screen over it(that screen is about all the filtering your climate control gets). the small hole should be covered by tape, i don't know its exact purpose (i'm guessing its only used at the factory during assembly, as many random holes are) if the tape comes off, standard electrical tape should work fine as a replacement, just clean the area before applying
