Blower speed (5) not working
On my 2001 Montana, I have front blower speeds 1-4 working but 5 (highest) does not. Is this also the resistor?

1) 30 Amp Circuit breaker for the Hi Speed Blower (found at bottom-left in the fuse panel inside the van). See here: Fuses 2) Relay for the Hi Speed Blower. My manuals say it is located on the Blower Motor Resistor Module, so you MAY have to replace the entire module, unless the relay can be replaced on its own. I would swap around the Circuit Breakers in the fuse panel FIRST (assuming they are the same part) and see if the problem moves with the breaker. If that has no effect, its time to pull the resistor assembly loose and give it a look. Take Care,

Thanks for the help. I switched the 30 amp circuit breakers with no effect. I too suspect the relay but had been unable to find it based upon the jpg files seen of it on the internet. It makes sense what you have said. I had been putting off pulling the resistor module but will let you know if that is the fix. Thanks, John |

Re: Blower speed (5) not working
The blower motor relay is on the resistor module in this vehicle. Does not appear you can replace one without the other. For anyone looking in the future it is AC delco part number 15-80552
and Carquest or Standard Motor parts number RU-50 is listed as aftermarket replacement. Hope that fixes mine. I have ordered part and will see. |
