a constant squeak could be the wear indicator making contact with the rotor, it's a small metal tab on the brake pad to worn you that it's time for a brake job, get them checked before you start to chew up your rotors.

if you dont feel any pedal pulsation or grinding your rotors are probably fine.

some rotors are fairly inexpensive so replacing them is the way to go.

if your getting new rotors brembo blanks *brembos OEM replacement* is the BEST you can buy if your rotors arn't shaking they are fine my car is on its 3rd set of rotors and is closing on 15 now so they last some time.

oh yea hit up tirerack for them great deals

Re: how do you know if you need new rotors?

u can do it the right way and get a micrometer or sliding caliper gauge to measure the rotor thickness...but usually u can get 1 cut per rotor before replacing them...but now adays to cut weight down for weight to fuel consumption ratio companys use thinner rotors so first brake jobs need rotor replacement...if u bought ur car used...id replace the rotors to be safe if u dont want to measure anything...
