My dipstick broke so I bought a universal one. Im curious how much oil is need to make it full to the factory standards. This will allow me to adjust my dip stick to the right heigth and I can change me oil. Thanks

Its a 85 GMC Jimmy S15. Let me know if you need anymore info. Thanks

Re: Oil Question

Buy a Haynes or Chilton's manual for your make, model, and year at Autozone. This will give you capacities such as oil and all other information for diagnosing and fixing problems.

I think it would be easier to get another dipstick from a junk yard. Other wise search online or get a manual.

Re: Oil Question

I would go with trying to find an owners manual for that year of a truck or getting an oil dipstick from the junk yard from that exact size motor you have around the same year of truck has, that way theres no guessing of any kind.
