Re: cam shaft

Boy, you opened up a can of worms!!!

If you ask 10 different guys about which cam they think is best, you'll get 25 answers! Everything is linked together, cam clearance with the crank, valve lift and spring bind, regular stock or high lift rockers, carburation and exhaust, etc., etc., etc. Unless you are in a position to make some pretty expensive errors you really need to know what you are doing. There are some web sites where you can get some information, also talking to a good engine builder will help. Try cal-look.com, they have a tech library and you will find some useful information there. It's not hard to install, you just need to know everything will work together when you're done.

Reminds me of a poem:

Dirt in the fingernails
Grease in the eyes
Looks like an animal
A man in disgiuse
Pitty the poor schmuck
Who's parts don't fit
Fearing his engine's gonna run like SH#T!

Good luck,
Brett
