Does anyone know what class the factroy hitch is on a 99 silverado. i have the 4.8 w/3:73 gears, and im about to haul a 1984 Hurst/Olds on a car hauler, but I want to make sure that everything is ok to do so before I do this. Is there any way of identifing what class the hitch is just by looking at it???
Thanx for the help!

Re: Trailer Hitch Question??
Does the hitch still have the paper above the trailer light connector that tells the weight? If so it tells the class.

Re: Trailer Hitch Question??
It should actually still have the information stamped in the steel around the Hitch. I know that the if it's the big style box Hitch then you should be able to tow around 5000 lbs. I know I was able to tow 5000lbs with my 90' Blazer with a 4.3 L v6 in it so; you should be able to tow your car with no problems. Is your truck rigged for Trailer Brakes. Highly advisable if your towing a heavy load...
Cheers Evan

Re: Trailer Hitch Question??
yea its the box style, looks pretty heavy duty so it should be all good. But there are no stampings and no stikers, or at least not anymore, probibly wore/fell off. Thanx again
