Question My Riviera A/C

I just bought a 95 Riviera, and my a/c is acting funny. I turn it on and it does not always come on, sometimes it comes on about 10 mins or so into my drive, sometime only a min or so. The past few days it hasnt kicked on at all.I've done everything, ive messed with the auto turned that on and off, messed with the fan and temp and still nothing. I dont have a owners manual so im clueless. Please help.

sounds like a bad relay, intermittantly kicking the compressor clutch on then dropping out like that. not sure where they buried that relay though; mine hasn't taken a *@#! yet probably up under the hood on the firewall somewhere

I am not sure what you are referring to by “not coming on”. Does the fan run and not the compressor, or does the compressor run and not the fan, or nothing works? Do you have the auto temperature control (ATC)?

Re: My Riviera A/C

If your compressor and fan are working, (or trying to work), it sounds like the blender door actuator. Part is about $35.00. With the engine off, turn the fan to high, and see if the blower motor is running, or trying to blow. If not, you could have a blower motor control problem. Let us know if the blower is not running.
The link below will help you troubleshoot the blender door actuator..
