It is time to accept the inevitable

For many years, both Australia and New Zealand have been gradually getting more distant from the Motherland. It would be fair to say that each is now an independant country in all but name. With the massive post -war influx of immigrants to both countries, mainly from asia, and the huge carribean/indian/african influx into Europe,it is fair to say that Australasia is becoming less and less like Great Britain every year. The Royal family, for so long an icon of our heritage, appears to be quietly crumbling into insignificance in this part of the world, and more and more people see them as irrelevant to our future.

The time has surely come to accept that New Zealand and Australia can no longer continue as distant and neglected territories of the monarchy. We should consider forging a new alliance and merging to create a new Asian nation. It makes perfect sense from a trade perspective, our sports teams would be invincible,we could get rid of a hundred or more politicians and we could end the pointless scrapping that occurs between Ockers and Kiwis.

This new nation could be the envy of the world, with enough space, rescources and skills to provide for all of our needs and a healthy export income as well. Now more than ever it is time to merge our two nations and reap the benefits of becoming a super-nation......

The only question is....how do we deal with the large number of Kiwis who appear to be reluctant for us to take in all these Aussies as a new province of the mighty New Zealand?

cough

I am a kiwi, and i relise this is joke. Aussie as part of NZ, but whats the chance of this ever happening, either way round. It would have some good things about it, but what about the sports teams.

All Wallibies/ Black Wallibies

Us kiwis might have to take up AFL!!!
Australia would then claim the Americas cup as thiers!!!

... and yet I remember not so long ago, a certain anonymous person who's alias is often abbreviated to resemble that of a character in A Team was bemoaning the fact that the tension between Aussies and Kiwis was a touch high :finger:

I don't have an 'official' forum to mod,but since I hang around the OT forums a bit...I guess that's where they had in mind.

To be quite honest Kiwi's are still very similar to those in the "motherland", however Aussies are becoming very similar to the Yanks not a bad thing, but I like the average Brit a lot more than the Average American.

Still if Australia became a state of NZ, then we would have a place to send all our convicts Just like old times
