Question E32 Spark Plugs

Hello all!

I recently bought myself a 1990 E32 735i SE. I need to service the thing and I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on the best type of spark plugs to use. The comedians at my local Autocentre suggested that they would likely cost £40 (US$80) each for this kind of car!!

Anyway, I've seen a number of different websites suggesting the best are Bosch Platinum spark plugs (BSH005053) but I would have to import those from the US as it seems nowhere in the UK sells them. That in itself is not a problem as they're cheap enough but I was just wondering what others have been using.

Any advice would be greatly apprecitated. Cheers.

Bosch plugs, you have the M30 engine. you adjust the gap to .028-.032 or .7 - .8mm
If you wana get really technical you tourque the plugs to 30 ft lbs

Re: E32 Spark Plugs

Thanks Antiburn for the useful info.

After a bit of rooting around with the M30 engine info (can't believe I didn't know that ) I discovered that the recommended plugs are Bosch W8LCR or NGK ZGR5A or Champion 2415(Gold)/3145 (Platinum) plugs. It's the product numbers which were evading me for a while and causing my headache. It seems I can get plenty of those over here nice and cheap.

Thanks for the help.

Spark Plugs

The consensus of the old timers in the BMW community is to go with BOSCH Copper Core plugs.
