correct cylinder compression?

I have a 95 eclipse GS, and i'm just wondering what the cylinder compression is supposed to be. I tested all 4 cylinders and they are around 70 psi...is this correct?

i did test with a pretty ghetto compression tester, and i'm not sure if it even reads correctly.

Re: correct cylinder compression?

Nope, that's bad.

Factory fresh it's 192psi and the service limit is 145psi.

EDIT> Did you have the car at WOT when you did the compression test? Was the car warm or cold? Did the battery have a strong charge?

These are all things that can lower your results.

Re: correct cylinder compression?

With those numbers, somethings way off. Walmart actually sells testers. It's where I purchased mine. I think it was only ~25 bucks or something. GIve it a shot, and as said, make sure the battery is charged, and the pedal to the metal.

Where does one learn to test the psi?
