a car that run 12's??????????

I have a friend of a friend who says that hes got a 12 second car, but what doesnt make sense is that he says the cars only making 200 flywheel horsepower, i kno something doesnt make sense. The kid, has quite a list of mods, now including a newhead, new internals, cam gears, intake and throttle body, v-tec controller, stage 2 cluctch and flywheel, stock bottom end, and a full exhaust, without cats, the guy buys the right parts, and he does great work to the car, but in my mind there is no way that hes going to be running anywhere near 12's.(No way 200hp, in FWD, is going to beat a new corvette

I think its the single cam motor also, so his story is a single cam 1.6L (i think) that runs 12's, now does that sound like bullshit to you, or is this a respectable statement?

Maybe in the 14's if he is a decent driver. But 12's? I don't think so.

14 is exactly what i was thinking, i drive a 95 Z28, and there is noway that car can beat mine, thanks for the input, but what would it take to run in the 12's, price, parts, ect. Thanks for the input, that is the problem with people he says he runs 12's, but never been to the strip, all talk...

yea I only say what my fastest ET is no matter whatelse i've done to car.
