2000 Taurus Control console removal

clips on one side do not release the unit. Does anyone know how to get it out if the clips are broken?

I had this same problem and I the person who put the cd in a bestbuy said since the clips were broken he couldn't get out the stock console. I had to bring it to a Ford dealer and they did it right away. I'm not sure exactly what they did, and was suprised that the guy at Best Buy said it was impossible to get it out, but the guy at the dealership did it so quick. So If you take it to a dealer they should be able to do it for you.
