98 instrument light flash with headlight on
98 Voyager that intermittantly starts to flash the inst lights. Headlights work fine. I think the tail lights are ok. It started a couple of days ago and wont do it when i want to test it. Is it a bad rheostat? Thumb wheel is in the right place. It only happens with the heads lights on.

The rheostat on my 98 van had been touchy from day one, sometimes they flicker or don't come on until I move it slightly. I never asked the dealer to look at it. See if the lights flicker when it's all the way up which turns on the dome lights, if they don't it's probably the switch. |

Re: 98 instrument light flash with headlight on
I'm new to this forum...I had the same thing occur on my 1998 Grand Voyager - when I took it to the dealer today, he said it was a problem in the switch. He later called to tell me that the switch I had (with the auto-off lights) was not the right switch, and that they replaced it with the appropriate switch. When I looked at the diagram in the user's manual, it had the auto-off light switch (with the large "A"). I get the sense I've been taken for a ride. Any thoughts on this?
