700R4 slippage

ok, the 700r in the bird is starting to slip (i know it is a common problem with it) would some lucas or tranny docter help any? it only does it when i get on it, or when i want on the highway, in 3rd i have to totally get off the gas to get into 4th, or am i better off finding the v6 r4 from a junk yard and swapping them?? i know eventually ill have to fix it, but right now i dont have money to piss in a pot with, so anything i can do to prolong its life is what im after

Re: 700R4 slippage

Well, just assuming youre not gonna rebuild that one, or even if you were, Id probably dump some Lucas in and see if it helps enough to get ya by. I dont see where itd hurt. I mean if youre gonna hafta either rebuild or replace it eventually anyhow, that may be good to tide you over til you can replace it.

Re: 700R4 slippage

rebuilding is usually more expencive then just going and getting a refurbished one, so hopefully some day i will be able to afford the newly refurbished 700 or even a 5 speed on the floor, but i know some people bitch about lucas products, wanted to see if any one here had positive or negitive experence, i used it in the pig on my s 10 and it solved my lock up problem... so i trust it, but ive never used it in my tranny... CDJr, thanks for the input, i think im gunna try it

yea but with a rebuild, better componets are used so the tranny will last longer
