Re: Creaking noise

Check body mounts, was my problem. Removal and cleaning fixed it.

Re: Creaking noise

I have a few squeeks and creaks in the suspension as well. I crawled under the truck with a can of WD40 and sprayed everything down. That didn't work. I was thinking maybe it's the coils up front and shocks in the rear. When I get my drop kit maybe that part will be fixed. I'm pretty much holding off on all the little things for when I get a decent job and can upgrade everything.

i have the creaking and i am pretty sure it is the body mounts. it didnt do it will i bolted the nerf bars to the body mounts. if i put pressure on the bars it creaks and when i hit bumps it creaks really gets annoying. my truck has 33000 miles and sounds like it has 100000. it sucks

Re: Creaking noise

never mind i figured it out. when i put the nerf bars on i didnt leave the origional washers on it and i was suposed to. also if its creaking on anyone else take out the body mount bolts, spray the bolts with wd-40 as well as inside the holes and torque the end ones at 65 ft lbs and the middle ones at 30 ft lbs.

any other hints on why body mounts or nerf bars creek. i am pullin my down tomorrow to see what the deal is. they drive me nuts. i know i put the washers back on but they sent new bolts with the bars and i used them instead of factory and they might be rusty or something. i dont know will find out tomorrow and try to post what was the prob.
