92 honda civic rpm probs

i got a 92 honda civic LX with a 1.5 non vtec
and when it runs and i rev it up it revs to
about 4,000 rpms and just bounces like surges
i thought it was the spark plug wires but i
got knew ones and i put a new distributor in it
im kinda of really stuck if any one can help me out i would
like it alot

is there a check engine light? how fast are u going when it bounces off at 4000rpm, ur tach might be off.

check engine light comes on and when i do the jump wire
it reads code 3 thats the ckp sensor in the distur.
but this guy i talk to when u do the jump wire he said
some times thats not allways it and i know its not it
b/c i just put a new distur. in but and does it and i just sit
there and rev it up i and a little thought it might be
the rev limiter but i dont even know or were it is
located

If your throwing the code for the ckp sensor, check the connector on it and if it's alright, replace the sensor.

the ckp sensor is built into the distur. and if u read wut i said i bought i new one and sometimes the ecu thorws off fuked codes
and the distur. i got his brand new and not a rebuild and the
conection is good is its none of that

First off, you main problem is whoever is giving you advice. I mean really what a fucking true idiot among idiot. I can see it now "Well, some times they throw codes, but that's not really what's wrong, sometimes the ECU likes to trick, ya know for fun hahaha" what a douchebag. The ECU and the codes, are there to tell you what is wrong, that's what they exist for.

Here's a small something to think about. If you just messed with the distibutor, and now it's throwing a code for a part inside the distirbutor, do think that MAYBE, just maybe, you did something wrong, or that the part you replaced it with could be bad? Or that maybe somewhere between the CKP sensor and the ECU, there's a problem?

Oh yea, the rev limiter isn't a piece, it is in the ECU, it is electronic.

first off are u sure its code 3, how did u optain this? code 3 is MAP sensor. ckp sensor is in the distributor. ckp sensor is ur crank position sensor. did u reset ur ecu when u swaped dizzy. also the cel might come on bc ur belt slipped. pretty much one of the reasons for having this sensor.

thats right it is a code 4
i was thinking code 3 b/c early dat day i unpluged my map sensor
and it gave me code 3 and when it was only given 4 before and it
threw me off .....LMAO...but im going to check out wut dude said
some were between the distur. and the ecu maybe a wire is damaged
or wut not i dont know but it wont hurt to check
but if u guys can think of anything else why it rpms at 4,000 rpm
and bounce like dat let me know so i could try dat
