Speaker size 94 LX
My back speakers can`t take the output of the new radio.45X4==140 watts. What size are they and can I get to them ? I thought I would ask before trying and wrecking the speaker grills. If there a way to screw something up I can do it. Would a set of 6X9s fit?

Re: Speaker size 94 LX
The size is 5x7 or 6x8 believe it or not they both fit. In my 95 LX (which is as I understand to be exactly the same) you just use a flat head screw driver and pop off the bottom side of that whole panel in the back seat and they will be right there. 6x9's wont fit without MAJOR modification to the whole in the structure and the panel that surrounds it (you'll see what I mean once you take them off).

As a secondary thought I have a 95 and I use Pyle Drivers from AutoZone.. 5x7 / 6/8 they fit either... $25.00 and they sound great

Re: Speaker size 94 LX
just about all 5x7 will fit into a 6x8 hole. They use the same mounting locations for both sizes. If I recall correctly you might be talking about the plate stly Pyle speakers with the smaller circular woofer and a small tweeter mounted next to each other on the same plate. If that is so i would STRONGLY recomend against buying those. I wouls stick with the oval shaped woofers with the tweeter and midranges mounted in the center.
