Check Engine Light

My check engine light suddenly came on on my 3.0i Z3 and it now runs like a 4 banger. I had the diagnostic codes read at my local Autozone and they indicated that my Crank position sensor and Aux I/O were faulty.
When my engine light came on the light for my DSC also came on and will not go out with the dash button. Also my cruise control is no longer working. All at the same time. I assume that this is the Aux I/O but I don't know what that actually means nor where to find it.
I replaced the Crank sensor to no avail.
Anyone out there have any ideas???

Re: Check Engine Light

You need a new crank sensor, that will fix your misfire and check engine light. You need to find out if its the intake or exauset camshaft sensor.

Hello Antiburn and thankyou for the response.

I did replace the Crank sensor and it made no difference whatsoever. I find it interesting that my cruise control, DSC and crappy running all happened at the same time. All of this was shortly after I did a high pressure wash of the engine compartment. Not same moment or ever same day but a couple of days later. Don't know it that is associated (cause). Do you know what the Aux I/O error means or where it might be located?
