99 Chevy/GMC Sub DRL mods
I have viewed the archives for information on DRLs in this forum and the similar GMC vehicle. Most relate to a nonfunctioning condition of the DRLs.
I would like to disable this system. A post on an S-10 site indicated that bending a relay tab (pin 86) was sufficient to disable the DRLs without affecting any other systems (normal headlight operation, parking brake lights, buzzers). Is this also possible with the 1999 Suburban? Thanks!! |

Waht would you like to disable the automatic on feature of the headlights or just the drl's. The DRL's are run off the fog lamp fuse. When you pull this fuse the green headlight indicator in the instrument panel will still be on, but the lights won't be. This will not effect the automatic feature. If you want to disable that let me know.

Re: 99 Chevy/GMC Sub DRL mods
OKay, that worked. Duh, that was easy. Now if I could only get behind the instrument panel and pull the bulb...nah - too much work!!!
