Unhappy dome light problems...

Thanks to those who tried to help me earlier. My dome light still doesn't tirn off after I turn my car on and it remains on. I checked the door pins and I even removed them and tested them, they work. My dimmer switch dims all my insturments lights but it doesn't seem to affect the dome light. When it clicks that should be when the dome light turns off or on but well...no effect. Any ideas?

Re: dome light problems...

There is probably a grounded wire somewhere thats making contact.I had an S10 once that whenever the door was opened, the high beam indicator would light up (but not the dome light)....no kidding.Turns out,the wire leading to the dome light somehow got pinched and would intermittently lose contact and light up the dash panel.Of course this lemon had other problems too....Whenever the horn fuse blew (frequently),pushing the horn pad would make the dome light come on (no fooling!),and when the parking light fuse blew, all the warning lights on the dash would come on.I dont know why so many fuses blew, but it was a total lemon.Assembled on a Wednesday too! So that old addage means nothing!
Check a fuse just for the heck of it.Check them all.
