1997 Geo Metro LSI needs home
~~~~~~~$1,000~~~~~~~ CAN'T BEAT THAT PRICE. KBB IS $1600 AS IS.
Hopefully someone can use this car. Any help finding a new home for it? It is sitting and needs a new home. CLEAN CAR BUT IT IS NOT NEW, IT MAY HAVE A FEW DINGS, CHIPS AND LIGHT SCRATCHES, THE CAR **STARTS** (SEE BELOW)-RUNS-DRIVES, BREAKS WORKS, THE DASH IS FADED AND ROOF LINING HAS STARTED TO LOOSEN AND HANG BUT SUPER GLUE CAN FIX THAT, WINDSHIELD HAS A CRACK, THE CAR DOES NOT SEEM TO USE ANY OIL OR OTHER FLUIDS AND THERE IS NO FLUID LEAKING ON THE GROUND, THE CAR IS PROBOBLY DUE FOR A TUNE-UP 1997 Geo Metro LSI, 4 door, black, auto, 1.3 liter. 111K miles. Seats 4. All seatbelts work. No ABS (did not come with ABS). Has dual side airbags. Cloth interior. Needs fuel pump and car will not start as of today, but fuel pump will be purchased on Wednesday and installed on Thursday by licensed mechanic. Both fuel filters and air filters replaced within last 3 weeks. Crack in windshield along bottom of glass and has been there for 4 years and never had any leaks and not in line of vision. Sun damage on roof and on trunk. Rock dings on hood. Minor dent on driver side, but does not inhibit the doors from opening and closing. Dents have been pulled out but there is still a crease. THIS IS THE ONLY ACCIDENT THAT IT HAS BEEN IN, AND MY HUSBAND IS THE ONE THAT BACKED INTO MY VEHICLE WITH HIS VEHICLE. WAS NOT WRECKED OTHERWISE. I AM THE 2ND OWNER OF VEHICLE, UNAWARE OF ANYTHING BEFORE 1999 WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM A DEALERSHIP. Driver side window off track but all that needs to be done is the door panel pulled off and put back on track. I did not feel the need to do this since I do not eat fast food or need the use of the window. AC works and blows cold but spring has popped behind button and needs to be pulled out and put back in. Heater works great. AM/FM radio works, but cassette player inoperable at this time. Some minor staining on floorboard from normal wear and tear and 1-2 burn holes from previous owner. They must have been smokers. Very small holes. Will need alignment within a month or so and tires will need to be replaced shortly as well. Oil changed within the last 1,500 miles and does not burn oil or leak fluids. Fuse blown for lights on gearshift. Air bag light and emergency brake light stays on but nothing is mechanically wrong with either item. Gets great gas mileage. I drove the vehicle 60-80 miles a day since 1999 and only replaced brakes and power booster on vehicle in 6 years. NOT BAD!!!! 8-gallon tank and I filled up about every 3-4 days but those are rush hour traffic miles and interstate miles. That will decrease the gas mileage. If you are looking for a gas saver, this is it. This car would be great for a courier, pizza delivery guy or anyone that drives a lot of miles and the gas prices are taking a toll on your wallet.
