2002 Aurora, water leak in rear seat area

My wife's 2002 Aurora (13500 mi) has wet carpet in the driver's side rear. We've had it about 6 weeks and this is the first time we've noticed water. Then again, it's only the beginning of hurricane season...

I searched the board for water leak problems and didn't find any that involved the interior. Anyone ever have a problem like this?

What else can I tell you about the car? Never wrecked, no sunroof, no modifications, no visible wear or damage to weatherstrips.

thanks
kevin

Re: 2002 Aurora, water leak in rear seat area

I think I have the same problem with my 3.5, 2001. It apears that the water is a condensation coming from the AC system. My carpet is wet in front of the front passenger seat. I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Were you succesfull?

Mine was wet in the driver's side rear. That's probably not an AC problem. Hasn't happened since I posted.

Good luck with yours.

same thing with my 2001 - this will be a pain to fix.

It's definately NOT A/C condensate....waaaaaay too much water

rusted a clip splicing serial data wire brown and brn/white in harness and took out all power windos and locks except driver door. Had to solder and tape.

Re: 2002 Aurora, water leak in rear seat area

I am also having the same problem with my 2001. The first time I noticed this, the drivers rear floor was really soaked, and drivers front also. I blamed my wife for leaving down the window one night that it rained, but that was not the case. I blew out the sunroof overflow tubes, and looked under the cowl cover, but have still not found anything. I also pulled back the carpet but did not see anything that might be causing the leak. What makes it worse is that the padding under the carpet is like a sponge so it really holds the water.

Sorry but I recommend that you start a thread addressing your issue. This thread is too old and we prefer they are not resurrected. Thread has been closed.
