Thumbs up ahh, the age old battle: Camaro VS Mustang...

so i was driving home from playing a few games of pool with some friends from church and when im near my house, i get to an intersection and stopped at the red light is a teal green mustang gt convertible(it was the 94-98 style, not sure what years had the slots on the taillights going left to right, so maybe that can narrow it down?). a woman was driving it, with her husband/boyfriend/whatever in the passenger seat. i didn't think anything of it, because i see tons of women driving mustangs and none are ever really agressive. well when the light turned green i took off like normal(aka quicker than everyone else) and at around 35mph she edges quickly ahead of me which made my door at her rear wheels, well i stomped the pedal(took a second, stupid stock automatic) and went ahead of her. i was hoping the light we were approaching would turn green so i could whoop them from a dig, but ah well. we continued edging back and forth until we glanced at each other and both gunned it from about 45mph. i believe they were in a manual because she took off and got about 1 carlength on me, but once my slushbox realized i had a horse to brand it shifted and i flew ahead of them both and about 3 seconds later i was 4 carlengths ahead. i looked at the speedo and it read 90mph. we were coming up to the last light on the road, after it there would be nothing but a long stretch(maybe 1/2 mile?) until you get to the navy base. im not in the navy, so i decided if it turns yellow in time i'd keep going to race from the light, but to no avail it stayed green so i turned right at the light and went on home.

Killed-
94-98 style mustang gt convertible
04-05 bmw Z4 roadster
97-98ish riced out civic
03-04ish dodge neon
???? grand prix GTP
falsely badged monte carlo(base, but marked as an SS)

good run. Sounds like a 94-95 GT. They had the 5.0, which made 225hp FYI.

Re: ahh, the age old battle: Camaro VS Mustang...

Need to build it up a bit. Make it a little more snappy. Stage 2 kit w/ 2800-3000 rpm stall would be nice depending on your mods.

There are auto shift kits too. They make it downshift earlier and shift harder. I believe it can be done by the computer many times. Not too keen on the auto stuff but I know it definately exists.

I had a modified Silverado Previously with a Venom Shift Kit .. Almost instant power when you touch the pedal.. Sent it to me instead of the Nitrous Kit I had ordered from them, and let me keep it for the error. Well worth the dollars though, if throttle response is important to you.

Nice camaro man, i always loved 94+ camaros.

BTW, on the highway, say 80+ you'd have killed a mustang by a mile. Mustangs are horrible at top end, whereas the LT1 is more of a mid to high end racing machine. State troopers here on LI have camaro's....and they fly. I'm not talking 125/130..i mean 140+.

Mustangs suck by an aerodynamic standpoint. One of the most underrated fords out there for top end is the 95 supercoupe thunderbird, bone stock it hits 140 with no problem.

Auto's, lol...i feel your pain. I hate it when i'm doing 30/35 and i'm in 3rd....stomp it...and it takes a good full second to hook 2nd and haul. Then again my tbird is tired anyways.....

Thanks, I love my car, LOL.

The LT1(93-97) is a beast in the bottom end, it falls on it's ass just like the 5.0 mustangs do(86-95), just not quite as hard its the 98-02 LS1 that is insane on the top end.

Bone stock my car does 150 no problem, lol.

Yes I hate that same feeling, but once it hooks it makes whoever you're racing want to shit a brick.
