Try this... Go to your auto parts store and let them show you a knock sensor. This will at least help you find it once you know what it looks like. On my 94 its on the back of the block...

Re: knock sensor location

2.2 is on back of engine block. When you are laying under the engine looking up,its on the right side screwed into a boss thats cast into the block. The thing is around 2" around with a rather large plastic plug snapped over its mushroom shaped connector. It just threads in,nothing will leak out.Be careful removing the connector, its tough to get off.Use a blade screwdriver, put it under the connector and twist. Then turn the connector 180 degrees and do the same twist with the screwdriver. It will come off without breaking.

I don't quite understand this, i can't find mine either, when you say back of block ,you mean the side by the firewall? I have a code 0325, does this mean change the knock sensor,or try something else first?

The code says sensor circuit.
First check wiring and see if it is unpluged from sensor.
BACK SIDE IF ENGINE WOULD BE FIREWALL SIDE.
2.4 is on back side towards rear end ofengine.
2.2 is on back side towards front of engine.

Re: knock sensor location

A knock sensor is like... Aspirin to a headache. If the engine had a headache, A knock sensor would help relieve it... Get it now? Lol!!!

It is a pcm sensor that picks up engine knocks/pinging/detonation and tells the pcm to retard timing to take away the knock.

Works good unless you have a rod knock or a broken part knocking.
