new tires?

alrighty, my brother has a 1994 bmw 325i. and hes gettin new tires but we're not sure what he should get.
he went to a shop and was lookin at some of his options and the
potenza p215/60h r15 93h. apparently they're good tires but the only problem with them is they're $100 a tire. so i was wondering what tires any of you would suggest for him to buy. they dont need to be all weather beacuse where he lives it rains like twice a year. a buddy of mine told me yokohama tires would do fine or parelli(spelling) but ya i was just wondering what you guys would suggest...

thanks greg

Re: new tires?

$100/tire is way too much to pay for such a small size

I recommend the Yokohama ES100 since its the only true performance tire in that size or any similar one.

yokohama ES100... ok the rims he has on there at the moment are the stock rims and i think he said the biggest he can fit on there is a 215 so that sounds like a good plan. thanks

Re: new tires?

my car came stock with bridgestone potenza's, in all honesty, they are the shittiest tires. after they were due fr a change i went with Nokian tires on my 17's and i love them, they grab like you wouldn't believe and are great all weather tires. or if you want to save money go with Fuzion tires, they're a smaller company owned by bridgestone and they make pretty good rubber, i have them on my 19's. or you could always go with Falken's they're pretty good tires for the price you pay.

Re: new tires?

you guys are suggesting these tires without actually bothering to look up if they're available in the size he needs. Please do not suggest a tire without checking its availablity.

Re: new tires?

i have found that the toyo tires that cassiesman recommended is a bad tire, my brothers mazda 3 came stock with the same model of tire and it lasted about 1 year and he didnt even do burnouts or anything, it has several spots where they are worn down to the tread indicators.......

Re: new tires?

there are about 4 different models of Toyo Proxes, you have to be alot more specific than just saying Toyo Proxes for it to mean anything.

Re: new tires?

Toyo Proxes TPTs. Only had one problem with them, day I got them installed I felt the ass end start to get out aroun 115ish going through a turn (for all you DFDub types, it was that little ramp that goes from 820 south to 30 west towards DTFW). After that, no complaints. Holds the car just fine at 120+.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
