Question Are Bendix Pads Good for a Lude?

I'm about to change the brake pads, I need some advise from u guys. I was thinking about getting some Bendix pads for my lude? are they good? does anyone has used bendix before on a prelude?. Or I should get Genuine Honda Pads?. Cause right now I have genuine honda, and these are not braking that good...

I'm not sure how well Bendix are as I've never used them, I'm currently using EBC Greenstuff, they work great for street driving and stop the car pretty well without squealing. For track use go with Redstuff, requires warming up and they like to leave dust, but you'll stop on a dime without overheating problems (i.e. excessive wear, glazing, cracking)

Thanks Gammey... I'll see.

Screw the name........if u get oem pads they last as long as the dealer wants, which is not long..........if u get any reasonable brand like raybestos, only if they are ceramic pads, you will have great stoppin distance............Remember to Resurface your rotors first if they are still stock................

Re: Are Bendix Pads Good for a Lude?

Ok... Honda OEM pads WILL last for a long time.

They are well made and do not squeak.

The 92-01 Preludes are the ones I'm speaking of.

EBC pads are not bad... and don't dust hideously.

I'm running Rotora rotors and Axxis metal master pads. The car stops VERY well compared to stock.

The biggest issue on my 5G Prelude is that the OEM rotors tend to warp.

The slotted Rotora rotors are superior to the Brembos IMO.

I've run a set of cryotreated brembos, and they didn't warp... BUT, the slots work much better in water, mud, and snow.

I've got 30k on them without issue.

In so far as the Axxis pads, I'll probably got with Cobalt Friction or something next time... but in a streetable compound.

Well no shit the slotted rotors out performed the normal OEM designed rotors.

Brembo Blanks are tons cheaper then the Rotoras and they still work great.

My experience is that the Brembo's (non-cryotreated) tend to warp too...

...OEM organic pads, metal pads, nothing makes a difference.

After a few sets of Brembos... then the slots are just as economical and they are STILL less expensive that the OE rotors.

Re: Are Bendix Pads Good for a Lude?

I think there are a set of OEM pads on the Lude right now, and they squeak from time to time.. but I haven't driven the car much lately so I'm not 100% sure. I was looking into upgrading the pads and a friend of mine suggested Hawk HPS, Brembo, or EBC Green pads. He also recommended Axxis, but they produce a lot of brake dust.

A lot of folks love the Hawk pads... the EBC Green stuff are ok, but not very agressive compared to the OEM pads.

I also here a lot on Honda-Tech.com and PreludeOnline.com that have been mentioning the Cobalt Friction pad types.
