Colors for exterior and interior voice your thoughts
Hey i was just curious what u guys think would be the best moves in colors, i have a 91 tsi awd with the 2 tone black and grey, with mild oxadation on the body and almost eye stinging oxadation on the roof of the car, the car has the brown tan interior and is pretty crappy looking, i was thinking of saving some money and having the car painted straight up jet black and maybe having my rims painted some type of metalic dark blue or red, and the interior is still a mystery i want to know is it possible to paint the dash, steering whell and other things a differnt color? i want the interior to be all one color or have the seats something that matches the rest. would it be cheaper to just buy seat covers and stuff? any creative ideas or whatver u want to say would be greatly aprreciated, any 1st hand experience in this sort of area would be awesome, thanx Aaron

Re: Colors for exterior and interior voice your thoughts
My ideal color scheme would be jet black exterior, with a two tone black and dark grey (like charcoal or something) leather interior. But whatever floats your boat

I take interior/extrerior color combinations very seriously and I am very passionate about it. I have ideas about what would look good and what definately does not. First off, do what you want to, its your car and screw everyone that does like it. Now heres what I think about cars and color.
Good: I think that a car should be painted a black, white, silver or somewhere in between and then you should have a color accent or have a main color with that same color accent. The accents could include neons, painted interior pieces, or vinyls (personally dont like vinyls). The accent color should be consistent throughout the car and you shouldnt use too many colors. I think that the interior should either be matched with the outside color or colored black. All non color mathced outside stuff (wings, mirrors, hoods, rims, etc.) should be the same color unless you want chrome rims with CF/clack other stuff. For example: my ideal Eclipse would be silver with black interior, blue underbodies, blue neon inside, with some blue on the seats and other interior pieces, chrome headlights and tail lights, and chrome rims. Bad: Color and color schemes such as blue car with green accents. I just think it looks too busy and lessens the accent color. Lots of big, crazy vinyls; I think they look tacky. My friends tell me and I am really anal about this kinda thing, and I know I am. This is just my two cents though, if you want to do something, do it up and have fun with it. |

Re: Colors for exterior and interior voice your thoughts
I had a red exterior with stock gray interior. I took out all the panels and did it black with red accents. Then on the dash I just took out everything I could without taking the whole dash apart and painted it red.

Re: Colors for exterior and interior voice your thoughts
my car is blue w/silver trim around the bottom, and I dyed the stock "rainbow" pieces black and some red accents on the dash/gauges etc.. When I get some time this summer however, everything is going to be black hopefully

![]() The car is pretty dirty in that picture, it's from when i bought it, but that's going to be my basic color scheme no matter what, i love the black on black. When i get it repainted i'm going with Black Java Pearl, it's got gold flecks in the black pearl, they used it on Nissans. |

Good idea aaron, once my car is done (well ted's first then mine so around 2020) we could paint your car plus we get to practice on ted's car. We could paint it any color you want it's just more work cause you'd have to paint the door jams, you could leave the engine bay black too.
