pag oil

question....the guy at the auto parts store gave us...ether oil? is that right? another question...if there is no oil in the compressor when its taken off...then how much do i put in it?

pag oil is right and you normally need 2 to 4 ounces

Follow the instructions that come with the new compessor. It will specify how much to add if there is no oil in the old compessor.

thanks its all hooked up...i was asking because there were no instructions on the can or with the compressor because it came from a salvage yard

As I remember it, PAG oil is for R-134 Freon, Esther is for R-12.
