engine problems when stopping

sometimes when i come to a complete stop my engine will vibrate roughly and then it will suddenly die. it does this about 50% of the time. so i try to slow down but not to a complete stop and then coast to a stop. its really frustrating having to start it back up in the middle of the street. anybody know whats causing this.

I'm sure you are not leaving it in gear or something. That sounds like when you forget to push the clutch. Are you manual or auto.

Question

What happens if you put it in Neutral and brake to a stop, and then put it in gear??? Does it die then??? If so it might just be something like you are idling too low. If you idle too low in a stick it will die, same principal. Hopefully that is all it is because that is pretty easy to fix. Anything more serious I don't know.

Re: engine problems when stopping

chekc all you vaccum lines, sound s like ur having either a vaccum problem or an intake problem, check ur intake too to see if theres any leaks or holes in it

sounds like ur engine is starving on idel
