2000 Monte Carlo Security Light Issue
Here is the problem:
The security light come on intermittently on my car. Sometime the car will not crank, but the is only about 2% of the time when the security light is on. But the problem is you never know when the damn thing is going to strand you somewhere. What's been done: The BCM as been replaced twice. The iginition cylinder have been replaced and rekeyed twice The TSB concerning reseating and/or replacing the 3 connectors has been addressed (3 connectors were replaced). Sometimes you can drive it for 2-3 days without the light coming on, other days it will come everytime you drive it within 5-10 minutes. The GM guys at Technical Assistance HQ are no help either. I have taken my 2000 Monte Carlo SS Pace Car to 3 GM dealerships in the attempt to get the problem with the security light fixed. No one has been able to figure it out. Could anyone point me in the right direction. I would even live with the security system disabled if that is possible. I just want to be able to drive my Pace Car again with having a tow truck follow me around. Thanks Greg |
