over heating

my car is over heating alot all the sudden. i put on a ct20b turbo and a down pipe. i had a coolent leak then i fixed that. it is still over heating when i drive for about 3 minutes. i was told that if i bleed out the cooling system and got out all air that it may cure it. i also am running 18 psi and i cant make it go down. i have the stock i/c. could that be a problem. any help please.

Re: over heating

usually air bubbles, a leak, or a headgasket.

Re: over heating

well there was a leak but i fixed that and it is still overheating. there is no white stuff around the oil cap so im guessin thats good. is it easyer to bleed that air out or to just drain out all the coolent

when in doubt, just go all the way. It wont cost much, and it definitely wont hurt to have a freshly flushed system with new coolant.
