Fuel pump rewire done...and 1 question.
I just finished the fuel pump re-wire and the car started right up, checked the voltage at the pump and it reads 14.01 at idle.
I followed the guide at plymouthlaser.com as I found it easier to understand than vfaq. It also seems a bit more detailed. The one I followed says he used a 10 gauge 30 amp inline fuse holder, vfaq says he used 20 amp. I used a 12 gauge 20 amp since I already had one. Is there any reason not to go with the 20 amp? Thanks!

Re: Fuel pump rewire done...and 1 question.
That will be just fine. A larger pump like the supra unit will draw around 20 amps however, so the 30 would make more sense. But it all comes down to the guage wiring when talking about fuse ratings. 20 is below the rating of that wiring, so it is safe.
Congrats on doing the right thing. Everyone should be rewiring thier pumps.

Re: Fuel pump rewire done...and 1 question.
My car has no mods but figured its so easy and I already have the right parts, so why the hell not?
Thanks for the info. Everything still seems perfect.
