2002 blazer

2002 blazer 4.3 40k Today my mom called me saying her balzer keeps dying and i need to pick her up. It started up after each stall. So I went and drove it homw about 2 miles no problems then in the driveway it died. I decieded the Belt tensioner had lost its spring tenstion and was way loose so i replaced the tentsioner and belt. Took it for a 10 miles drive.....ran great! So 4hours later i go to drive it and i turn the key and the gagues flick on and off and it does nothing so i get in a different car and come back about 3 hours later and i get in it and turnthe key to the notch before you start it and the radio comes on, the gages max out, then a few secounds later the head lights turn on and the dome light then the radio shuts off and it kept playing these games of on and off. SO im at a stand still here it has a new battery ( a month ago) and when i drove it, it said the volts were at 14 right in the middle.......

Any ideas

Re: 2002 blazer

Hmmm.....

Sounds like an ignition switch problem.

I had this exact problem, but it was with my old car (which was a 96 Buick Regal) Anyway, it took them forever to figure out what the issue was. I would be driving along, and then the car would just stall out. Sometimes it would just start right back up, but other times I had to pull over for up to an hour before it would start again. I would act like the engince wasn't getting any power. The light, guages and radio would come on, but that was it. I tried replacing the battery, starter, alternator, none of it worked.
Anyway, after the car being the shop for over a week, it finally stalled out for the mech. The issue was that the cam shaft sensor was bad. It was only about $250 to fix, which is a lot better than the price of a new computer ( what they thought was the issue from the get go).
Hope this help.
