To anyone who ventures into this yet unvisted world of the 300M.

I took one out for a test drive today and was impressed. It doesnt come close to the VR4 for speed but it was a good ride. I'm seriously considering buying one of these in short order. I would like to get some performance numbers though. I'd guess in the 7s 0-60 and the quarter in the upper 15 low 16s. However, I see the possibility to put a supercharger in there to give it more punch.

Thanks.

I think it zero to sixty's in the 7.8 to 8.0 second range. I know what you mean, it really is an outstanding car. One of the best to come from a Chrysler production line in a long, long time. And it was among the most comfortable and handsome interiors I sat in at the Auto Show, even more comfortable than cars like the Acura 3.2 TL and Mazda Millenia.

Supercharged, the 300M would be a beast! You could probably bump crank output to 295 or 300 horsepower with a measly 4 psi of boost from roots blower. And I'll be very interested to see what Chrysler does with the yet to be released rear-wheel-drive 300N.

I'd have to agree with you - its one of the most comfortable sadans I've been in for quite some time and that includes a lot of BMWs and Benzes. The more I think about it, the more I want the car. I'm going to have my fiance take it out for a spin as well. After that, it'll come down to getting a fair price for it.

I've seen what a turbo charged lexus is capable of and I forsee the 300M tearing up the street the same way.

Thumbs up 300M

Hi! I've had my 300M for almost 4 years now and it is an outstanding car! I've been trying to get a 0-60 time for it with no luck. Punch it getting on a freeway, and zooooom! My gas mileage for combined 40,000 miles is very near 23 mpg - pretty good, I'd say. One thing I would like to point out are the disadvantages (in my opinion and others) of the sports suspension. It was a super cheap add-on but I went with the regular package after experiencing rough ride and brake noise. Definately test drive both - over railroad tracks or rough road and notice the difference. Cheers!
