95 civic ex question.
In my discussions with greenblur and reading these forums i discovered something you guys all seem to have in common that i lack.
Manual Transmission. My Civic is an auto trans. Now, should this affect how i treat it as far as upgrading, etc? Greenblur suggested i motor swap something in with a manual trans, but if i'm spending that much, i might as well just get a better car. Anyway, i'm opening up the forum here to discuss Auto vs manual, and what i can do (or should do) with my car now. (i fixed the stereo problem, btw) as stated before, 95 honda civic ex coupe. 2 door. 56k miles. Seems to be in good condition. (just got it) |

manual trans is just better because all its advantages like down shifting and it last longer, better gas mileage, etc. 56k miles? you could get good money if you sold it or it disappears an then you could buy a mt vehcile plus no offense but automatic is just so boaring to speed in

Re: 95 civic ex question.
You really get the full potential out of your motor with a manual transmission, although there isn't much to do with the Civic, but you can see what I mean. And truthfully, a new motor for your car isn't that much. I purchased a JDM D15B motor for $650 shipped. 130 HP right there. Doing the swap isn't all to difficult either. Takes time and patience, but definitely worth it in the end.
Anyway, back to the manual tranny. They are much better than auto's IMHO, with the Civics that is. I'd honestly follow greenblurr's advice and find a nice DOHC motor for your car with the MT of course. |
