Question check engine light ( code P0715)

We have a 2001 Sonata
The transmission will intermittantly slipped (only after a dead stop). The check engine light comes on (code P0715, turbine sensor) it records 2 of the same code. When the problem happens my wife will turn the engine off/on and it's ok for a while. I will down-shift to 2nd accelerate and up-shift. Has anyone else had this problem is it most likely a sensor malfunction or a transmission issue. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Wink

I guess I'll reply to my own post...I pulled both the input and output speed senors cleaned and checked connections, re-assembled and drove the car for 20 miles with obd scanner attached to monitor. Everything tested ok...I would have replaced the sensors but none of
the local dealers had the parts in stock...Hopefully this will help someone
with the same problem as i had. GOOD LUCK

Red face Re: check engine light ( code P0715)

Sorry for the Bump, but this appears to be a similar issue with my 2000 Sonata GL V6. However, when I am driving the vehicle, it has lunged and dropped out of over-drive, the engine light goes on (two occassions, 75 mph, 40 mph). Continues to drive without the ability to shift into overdrive. Stop the car, turn off, turn on, and everything is fine again. Happend 3-4 weeks apart.

Anyone know what the issue is? Could this be the speed sensors too? Where are they located? Any insight would be great. I hate to take it to the dealer, I'm starting to question the value of the vehicle vs. cost of repairs.

Thanks!
