Noise when I turn the steering wheel
Hey guys, two days ago I got new front wheel brakes for my 2002 firebird, then today something weird started to happen. I was parked in a downhill street and when I was about to take off I applied the brake and turned the steering wheel to the left. As I was turning the steering wheel it made a sound as if the power steering fluid was out. That's what I thought it was, however when I stopped the car and checked the power steering fluid level everything seemed to be okay. I mentioned the thing about getting the brakes like 2 days ago because I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. It only does this sometimes, I don't know if its gona get worse since it just started happening and it only happens when I am parked. Any help or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks, Frank |

Re: Noise when I turn the steering wheel
I would jack up the front end, put it on stands, turn the wheels from one end to the other pinpoint the make sure nothing is getting hung up or there is no bending in a tie rod. The lube everything up including the bearing and it should go away if the power steering pump is healthy and there is no damage to any steering compenent. Good luck
