Fuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!
So I had an interview in Windsor today, a city 2 hours south of London. It all goes great and they seemed really impressed and I felt quite confident. SO on the drive back I happen to hit a bird accidently...I slammed the breaks but the sucker flew right in front of the car and not away. So that made me feel bad. Then I started to follow a truck at 120km/h for a good 30 mins....and as soon as I decdide to pass him, there was a cop with a radar gun ready. He said he clocked me at 146km/h but i doubt it was that fast because it was seriously a 2 second span and I didn't feel a great deal of acceleration. The best part is that I was suppose to lose 3-4 demerit points from my license and a fine. But he asked me why I was speeding and I answered truthfully, and he goes in his car. 10 mins later comes with a ticket priced at 341$ and no demerit points because he felt bad for my people (he kind of figured I was middle-eastern since my complexion and name give it away). I was shocked to hear that from him.
But to add salt to the wound, I have my car payment on Monday- 740$, Insurance on Friday- 350$ and I have to come up with 341$ extra to pay this ticket. I get my pay this thursday but for less hours than usual because I never expected this hefty fine. So now I am contemplating just paying the first month's car payment, give it back to the dealer...cancel insurance and go with a used car. I found the hard way that the payments are so fragile that something like this throws it off completely and brings a whole bunch of stress and headaches. This sucks ass. |

Re: Fuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!
Can't you float the insurance or car payment a week or two? or will they cancel your insurance/repo your car. Not sure how the laws work in the UK but if you were in the US you'd been fine letting the bills go a couple weeks. Sorry to hear that bro. Peace-

Re: Fuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!
Actually Raz, you can take longer to pay the ticket, although you will pay more (interest I think). But, with the "lack of funds" right now, you can wait a bit.
I am in Sarnia, Ontario and I had a speeding ticket a couple years ago from our "friendly" OPP and couldn't pay it right away and they kept "reminding" me until I could pay it. So I would hold off for a pay or two if you can. I got tagged doing 120 km in an 80 km zone and I passed the cop coming towards me. I pulled over right away and got 20 kms taken off the ticket cause I pulled over before the cop had even finished turning around. Oh yeah .... stop speeding (that much at least !!)

Re: Fuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!
Fight the ticket. Get POINTTS or EX-COPPER to fight it for you. They may be able to plead it down or get you off. Sure it will cost you $250++ but its cheaper than the extra insurance.
And NEVER plead 'guilty' to a ticket, even if you are. |

Re: Fuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!
Fight the ticket in court. It will give you like at least another month to pay the ticket.

I suggest floating the ins. payment for a few weeks. |

Re: Fuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!
It's called the 400 series highway/freeway from Windsor to London. Toronto is east of London...don't assume anything if you don't know what's going on.

on the 400 series it is routine flow to be about 100 for slower lanes (more like 105 110) and middle about 120 and the fast lane is more like 140+
i havent driven on them much, usually just the highways between london and kw and crap like that, most of our highways are always under construction and like 2-4 lanes so you spend more time at construction stops then you are on the actual road and you never get above 80 |
