18x8" Rims W/ 40mm Offset, How Much Can I Drop It?

Sup guys,

I know this issue has been address several times however I fail to find any responses for that particular question with that wheel size on a Spyder. I currently own a 99 GS Spyder and purchased a set of 18x8" rims with a 40mm offset, the tire size is 225/40/18. My question is simple, how much can I drop it before it starts to rub?

I wanted to get eibach springs but noticed that Eibach has a specific model spring for the 96-99 spyders which drop's it 1.6" which is a lil more than what I originally wanted.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Whats the width of the rim and offset?

Will the wheel well measurements be the same on all eclipses 95-99 including the spyder?

1.6" with 18" rims and a 40 profile tire will be fine, you could probably drop it even more than that if you wanted to get some coilovers.

My concern is this metal rod that kinda arc's over the rear tire (dont know what its called) from under the wheel well, it looks kinda close the the tire now without it being dropped, are you sure if I drop it there will still be clearance?

My next question is which spring do I get in order to have a 1.2 - 1.3 drop? because as I understand it Spyders are generally a little heavier than a hardtop GS and as such cannot use regular GS springs at least that's what the sales rep told me at eibachs. I really dont want to drop it 1.6 because I dont want to do the whole camber kit thing. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
