help - tick tick tick and weird clunky noise
okay, so when i'm driving straight i hear a tick tick tick tick noise coming from the front driver's side wheel. it doesn't happen/gets quieter when turning to the left or right, or when i haven't used it in a while.
i brought it to the people i trust and they said that it might be any number of things, they've taken the wheel apart twice now and they said that i shouldn't be worried until the noise gets worse, once it gets louder or i start to hear a groan then i should take it back. also, sometimes on occasion i hear a clunk of sorts when i'm driving over little bumps, it's kind of a springy clunk or a metal creaky sound if that makes any sense, but i'm not sure what to think about that yet either. 98 sable wagon, 105k miles, my brakes are all fine and were redone not too long ago. any ideas? anything i should look for in sable problems? |

your noise sounds like a worn out cv joint to me. Have your "trustworthy" people check them. at 105k you likely need both sides replaced. They'll continue to be trustworthy for about 500 bucks.

for both? that's a whole lot of money :-\
might be able to find the parts online for cheaper i would think possibly... are they dangerous if i don't get them repaired right away? |
