Angry 1986 Escort Trouble, NEED HELP!!

I was driving my Escort and turned a corner and all of a sudden it shut off. It will turn over but will not start up. I changed the spark plugs, wires, cap. Someone was telling me about a fuel circuit breaker that pops on occasion. I have no idea where it is at and I need help finding it to see if it's tripped!! If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!!

On my 1989 Escort, there is a fuel shut off in the back of the car behind a panel on the drivers side. you have to pop off the panel and there is a button (mine is yellow). Hope this helps.

I agree. Sounds like the fuel cut-off switch. The reason for this switch is that if you are in an accident the impact will shut off the electric fuel pump.

It could be also be the timing belt. I have a lot of experience with those in the Escorts. When they go, the car just quits running and wont start again. They let go after about 60,000 miles.

Take the oil filler cap off and have someone turn the engine over while you look in there. If nothin's moving it is the timing belt that's broken.

my escort has the fuel cut off in the back hatch on the passenger side, black switch with red button, mine did the same thing, try popping it into the opposite position and see if that helps.
