Heater core

Heater stopped working on my '87 4x4. It's summer now and I'm not too worried yet, but the manual said the problem was most likely the heater core. Any idea where the core is? (22r engine)

This is for the next generation after yours. I don't know if they are similar or not. I do know that they are not fun to get to. I hope this helps, good luck.
