Unhappy Intermittent fuel pump--help??

The fuel pump doesn't always come on when I turn the key forward... sometimes it won't work for days so I get stuck places. I don't want to replace the fuel pump if it's an electrical problem or something else.. when I brought it to the shop in town it worked perfect, they had it for two weeks, the next time I drove it -- it stalled in a drive thru and had to push it out of the way. Its a 2000 Z24 with less than 70K miles. If anyone has any advice on what to start with that would be super. THANKS!

replace it!!!

Have a 2000 Z24, did the same thing. Car would quit at random with no advanced warning, then run fine again for weeks at a time. Dealer cleaned the injectors, replaced the fuel filter. Replace the ignition switch. Then it finally wouldn't start on their lot, right after they claimed to fix it....lol. Result.....fuel pump. Haven't had a problem with the fuel pump since. At that time, it was a dealer only item and cost over $300.00. TG for warranties...

Re: replace it!!!

I wish I had a warranty! I think I'll search the wires and all the connections, then get a new fuel pump off ebay and new fuel filter and hope that fixes it Should have it road ready again 6 mos or so!!

Thanks for your input!
