Road Kill

Anyone ever hit anything while driving in your GT? While driving to work this morning, a bird flew on the ground and I went right over it. I was going to swerve but I was too close to it so I wasn't gonna take the chance and get into an accident. So yeah, I thought I hit the bird but when I got to work and looked at where I thought the bird would be, it wasn't there. So yeah, I dunno what happened to it...anyone ever hit anything before?

Re: Road Kill

I have hit two live deer and run over 3 dead ones in the Stealth. I also had a pheasant fly right into the windshield post once. I have run over dead racoons and possums too.

Re: Road Kill

haha, got you all beat. Besides nailing a curb and a major pothole which have accounted for 3 totalled rims....I hit a watermellon. Yep that's right...a watermellon.

Last 4th of July, my friends decided to fill one with vodka, however, for whatever reasons it didn't work. They decided to do the next best thing and throw it in the road...where I hit it minutes later at 80mph.

Re: Road Kill

watermelon...nice! but did you intend to hit it goin 80 or not? i think it would be SWEEEEET to absolutely demolish a watermelon with my car going really fast.

Stealthee--> i don't think many other people, regardless of whether or not they own a 3/S, can match your 2 live and 3 dead deer.

But ya, i hit a dead deer once. it was at night, and it came up really fast and i didn't wanna swerve. needless to say it left some of its flesh on my undercarriage. flippin gosh! why couldn't he have kept his skin to himself!

Re: Re: Road Kill

Yeah, all 3 dead deer were at night. There was almost a 4th but I saw it at the last second. The first deer I hit days after I got the car and it just put a scratch on my hood from where it slid across it. The second however did a number on the car. It took out the fender, mirror, door, and left flesh and fur all back the rear quarter panel.

Re: Road Kill

damn dude, do you live in the forest? I never see that many deer where I am....my buddy in Oregon has a problem with coyote's (however you spell). that's crazy, is that why you did the front end conversion?

Re: Re: Road Kill

Actually, long story but, after the deer destroyed the fender and door I got a hefty chunk of change from insurance. At that time I was stupid and uninformed. I didnt know about 3si(or AF) so I took the money and bought a body kit. I had the body kit on the car and it fit nice but every day I began to dislike it more and more. Then one night it was raining and I was making a pass and entered a curve(well after the passing zone) way too fast and spun out and tagged some guard rails and ended up messing up the right corner of the front bumper. I was thinking about fixing it but then a few weeks later I was driving down the road and I see at the very last second a dead deer laying in the road and I did everything in my power to stop. Didnt work. I went up the road a little bit and pulled into a friends tire shop since he had a dusk to dawn light so I could look at the car. The bumper was barely hanging on and thats when I said, screw it. I had to do a temporary fix to help keep the bumper in place. A few months later I started gathering the parts to make my car look like it does now.

The funniest part is ever since the car has "been transformed" the only "bad luck" I have had was that I fell asleep at the wheel one night and busted the mirror and put some scuffs on the hood, fender, and door.

No I dont live in a forest. My sig pick was taken 5 miles from my house though. Its a National Historical Site. Its actually less than a mile from where the deer caused all the damage to the car. And another tid bit, that pic was taken after I fell asleep at the wheel, LOL.

Okay I have went on long enough.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Road Kill

LOL. I was soo pissed at myself that night. I had been up for something like 28 hours with no sleep. I should have just stayed at my friends house but insisted I was driving the hour and a half home. It was something like 32 hours once I finally did actually go to sleep.
