1982 Ford Courier

I have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer.

(1) How old does a car have to be to be considered and antique? Would my 1982 Ford Courier be considered an antique?

(2) Is there anyone on this forum who has a 1972-1982 Ford Courier pickup?

(3) If I have a 1982 Ford Courier pickup with low mileage that was stored in a garage and is completely original and is in excellent condition, could anyone take a guess at what my truck is worth? I guess what I am saying is, do I have truck worth anything, or do I just have old pickup?

1) I think a car is a classic after 25 years. An antique might be 20. It's somewhere around that range.

2) Maybe, I've never heard anyone comment on them though.

3) My friend 1979 Ford Fairmont Station Wagon w/ inline 6 200 was only worth about $3,200 in absolute perfect condition. I'd consider that wagon just as hard to find as a Courier of that year. Probably around 2500-3000 if it's in pretty good condition. You will have to look up the value, I'm honestly not sure.

I am looking for a set of mirrors for a 1979-1982 Ford Courier. (I have the mirrors, but they had an option for larger extended mirrors for vehicles with camper tops and I like the larger extended mirrors better) I need the entire mirror assembly for right and left side.

I am also looking for an OEM rear bumper. It had the license plate light on both sides of the license plate, not just one side. The original owner opted for a tow hitch installation and it has a heavy duty aftermarket bumper on it. I want this vehicle to have only geniune ford parts on it. It is not a matter of just getting a bumper, I can get a new bumper that is like OEM, but I want an actual OEM bumper like would have came on my vehicle stock.

I am also curious if anyone is restoring a 1984 or older Mazda B2000 or Sundowner or any 1984 or older Mazda B-Series truck (B1600,B1800).

Thanks for your reply to this thread. As far as a V6 fitting in a Courier, I wouldn't see any reason it would not. The Courier stock inline 4 is kinda bulky for an inline 4, so I am guessing a modern V6 would fit. Actually, it has been done. I rememered it while I am typing. I will attach a picture of it. It is a Courier that was turned into a dragster.

They had the 2.8L in the courier didn't they? I am not sure if the tranny bellhousings are the same, but I know the 2.6/2.8/2.9(FI)/4.0(FI) OHV bells are the same.

I think your best bet would be to use a C5 from an 83-84 Ranger with the 2.8, but are hard to come by. You can get an offenhouser 4bbl intake, I think I've even seen a blower on one. Would take some measuring and some fabrication. EFI would be a headache, but would definately be different. Not sure if you can get a painless harness for the 2.9L or 4.0L.

Psychopete, just want to make sure you don't think I am the one trying to put a V6 in a Courier. I was replying to someone's request for information. It is the other guy trying to do this, not me.

Damn, ya know, I've never seen a Courier, until I looked at the pics posted here!!! Being 31, I figured I'd at least seen one. It's a neat little truck. I'd like to see more pics of that dragster if ya got any more.
