Several more problems with 96 Sebring

Have a 1996 Sebring convertible we just bought - cruise control light will come on but won't engage - any idea where to start?
Have intermittent problems with it starting - has only happened with a cold start - it turns over but it won't start. Later in the day it will start. I bought the car from a friend and she said the fuel pump had been replaced in December. It also eats CDs. I put one in and it won't come out. Do I need a new cd player?

Probably a bad ground somewhere. You are gonna have to track the wires and make sure everything is connected.

Could be quite a few things. I would first get the battery tested, it might be slowly dying on you. Make sure your battery connections are clean and tight. Could be malfunctioning EGR, spark plugs, sensors going out, but I'd start with the battery.

More than likely you will need a new one. All the more excuse to buy a new CD player!
