Very Hard Shifting 700r4

any one have suggestions on a n 84 700r4, when cold seems to work fine, when it warms up, it will cause the car to stall from a stop- unless you give it more throttle, does not seem as bad , if you place it in low, i'm pulling the pan as we speak for filter/fluid change- any suggestions?
